ABSTRACT: This article examines the contemporary state of the German economy through the lens of the post-war economic reforms that laid the groundwork for the socalled “economic miracle,” providing a review of Germany’s economic development and the ordoliberal principles that shaped its post-World War II economic policy. Despite growing calls for a new economic reform in contemporary German society, its implementation remains uncertain, largely due to the prevailing political configuration. Lastly, the article offers insights and recommendations relevant to Serbia’s economic policy.

KEY WORDS: economic crisis, ordoliberalism, economic reform.
